CLT wood construction
The house has a special construction that is made of cross-layered wood (CLT) instead of sand-lime brick and concrete. The amount we used for the hull can grow back in the German forests in a short time.
Energy is saved by, among other things, higher insulation values, a heat pump, solar panels and a balanced CO₂ controlled ventilation system with heat recovery. The collection and reuse of rainwater and a green roof as a water buffer contribute to climate adaptation.
Architecture Prize Amstelveen
In 2023, the house was awarded the Architecture Prize Amstelveen. This prize was created to draw attention to special architecture in the city, and to make residents more aware of it.
